Meet Billy Cullum — Founder & Principal of KiPA
Founded in 2019 by Billy Cullum, a British actor and choreographer, KiPA was created to nurture the next generation of performers through top-tier industry-led training.
Billy trained at Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Arts Educational School of Musical Theatre and continues to enjoy a successful career in London’s West End and beyond. His credits include Russell T Davies’ It’s a Sin, the Netflix film of Matilda (as well as the original West End production), RENT, Jesus Christ Superstar, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Little Shop of Horrors, and the world premiere of Leave to Remain, among many others.
Billy also teaches at several of the UK’s leading drama schools, including ArtsEd, Emil Dale Academy, Italia Conti, Trinity Laban, and Urdang.
He has served on casting panels for major West End productions such as Matilda, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Groundhog Day, School of Rock, and Hairspray — offering him a unique insight into what the industry is truly looking for.
With KiPA, Billy’s mission is simple: to inspire, challenge, and champion talented young performers in a supportive, inclusive, and professionally driven environment.
At KiPA, we offer students a truly unique experience — training with exceptional industry professionals from London’s West End and beyond.
Billy’s close association with the theatre industry places KiPA at the forefront of weekend Musical Theatre training. His strong relationships with leading performers, directors, casting directors, agents, producers, writers, musical directors and choreographers open up exciting, real-world opportunities for our students.
We are deeply passionate about addressing under-representation and the lack of diversity in the Arts. This is central to our mission and will remain a driving force as KiPA grows. We are committed to building a community where diversity is reflected in our teachers, our students, and the careers they go on to pursue.
KiPA’s mission is to inspire confidence, nurture raw talent, and deliver excellent training for aspiring ‘Triple Threat’ performers — actors, singers, and dancers. Above all, we want our students to thrive in a lively, supportive environment that encourages creativity, individuality and self-expression.
